Australian-founded software company providing an AI Legal Front Door platform that captures, triages, automates and reports on legal work for in-house legal teams using AI agents and no-code workflows.
Checkbox AI is an Australian-founded technology company that builds an AI Legal Front Door platform for in-house legal teams. Founded in 2016 by Sydney entrepreneurs Evan Wong and James Han and grown out of a university project, the company offers software to capture, triage, automate, manage and report on legal work across tools that legal departments already use, including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce and Outlook.
The Checkbox AI Platform combines AI agents for intake and triage with no-code workflow automation. Its technical work spans AI agents, workflow automation and enterprise software integrations. Hitachi reports that 83% of its routine legal and compliance requests are now partially or fully automated through Checkbox's workflows.
The company says it serves more than 100 enterprise organisations globally. Named customers and industry verticals include PepsiCo, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and Woolworths in consumer goods; Deloitte in professional services; SAP in enterprise software; BMW in automotive; Telstra in telecommunications; and Hitachi as an industrial conglomerate. It has raised US$23 million, most recently at Series A stage, with backing from Touring Capital and Peak XV (formerly Sequoia Capital India).
Checkbox is headquartered in Sydney and operates globally. It positions its platform as a means for legal teams to operate as a strategic partner to the business.
