FoodLabs & Atlantic Labs is an early-stage venture capital fund and venture studio based in Berlin, founded in 2016 by serial entrepreneur and investor Christophe Maire. The firm invests from pre-seed to Series A in FoodTech, Climate Tech, Health and Agriculture, backing entrepreneurs working on planetary and human health. Since 2016 it has built a portfolio of more than 30 companies across Europe.
Its latest vehicle, Fund III, is backed by €105 million in capital. Alongside investment, the firm operates a Venture Studio Model, pairing capital with hands-on operational support to help founders turn early ideas into businesses, and providing strategic guidance and access to a network of industry experts, scientists and operators.
Technical areas within the portfolio and investment focus include alternative proteins, protein production, mycelium-based foods, carbon removal, sustainable agriculture and nutrition, digital health, climate solutions and wider food system innovation.
